Tesla Crisis: Musk Reportedly Planning To Step Down From DOGE

Elon Musk's involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been making headlines lately, and it seems like his role in the organization might be coming to an end.
Amid mounting backlash against his electric vehicle company, Tesla, Musk is reportedly planning to step down from DOGE by late May this year.
However, despite all the challenges, Musk has defended his agency’s work and pushed back Despite the challenges,
Musk's association with DOGE began when President Donald Trump appointed him as a special government employee to lead the department. The goal of DOGE is to cut down on government regulations and eliminate wasteful spending. However, Musk's aggressive approach to achieving this goal has been met with criticism and controversy.
In an interview, Musk claimed that his team had been slashing waste and fraud at an average rate of "$4 billion a day" and had nearly achieved their primary objective within 130 days. "I think we will accomplish most of the work required to reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars within that timeframe," he said.
In fact, Musk, with seven other senior advisors - Aram Moghaddassi, Steve Davis, Brad Smith, Anthony Armstrong, Joe Gebbia, Tom Krause, and Tyler Hassen — has been working tirelessly, eliminating inefficiency across federal agencies. According to department estimates, their efforts, including workforce reductions, asset sales, and contract cancellations, have saved US taxpayers $115 billion as of March 24.
"The government is not efficient, and there is a lot of waste and fraud," Musk said, asserting that a "15 percent reduction" in federal spending could be achieved without jeopardizing critical services.
